National Girl Child Day observed on 24 January
The National Girl Child day was observed in the whole of India. It is celebrated to spread awareness about the inequalities faced by the girl child in the country. It is observed on 24 January every year.


25 January: as National Voter's Day
6th National Voter's Day (NVD) was observed across the country on 25 January 2016 by the Election Commission of India. The theme for the 6th National Voters' Day is 'Inclusive and Qualitiative Participation'.


International Customs Day observed on 26 January

International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust observed
It was observed on 27 January 2016 across the world. The day was proclaimed so by the Untied nations General Assembly. The theme for the Holocaust remembrance and education activities in the year 2016 including the Holocaust Memorial Ceremony is the Holocaust and Human Dignity.

International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation


10 February observed as National Deworming Day:
The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare launched the first 'National Deworming Day' - a massive school-based deworming effort in twelve states. National Deworming Day is a groundbreaking initiative focused on reducing the threat of parasitic worm infections, a widespread health issue affecting over 241 million children in India alone.


World Radio Day observed on 13th February 
The World Radio Day was observed globally on 13 February 2016 with the theme Radio in times of Emergency and Disaster. United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) annually celebrate the World Radio Day by Planning activities with broadcasters, organizations and communities around the world.

The day is observed annually to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect (Phenomenon of scattering of photons) by Indian physicist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman on 28 February 1928.

April 8 is celebrated as International Roma Day
International Roma Day was celebrated on 8 April 2016 across Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). On this day the Roma from all over the world pay respect to the Roma victims during the World War II.

22nd March: World water Day
United Nations World Water Day is an international observance held every March 22 that provides an opportunity to learn more about water related issues and take action on a current or future challenge to make a difference. This year's theme was 'Water and jobs'.


World Switches off Lights to Observe Earth Hour
The tenth edition of the Earth Hour was observed globally on 19 March 2016 from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm local time.
Earth Hour is a global environmental movement with a simple message to switch off non-essential lights for one hour on the last Saturday of March between 8:30 and 9:30 pm.


Martyrs Day (Sarvodaya Day or Shaheed Diwas) in India.
Martyrs Day (Sarvodaya Day or Shaheed Diwas) in India would be celebrated on 30th of January and 23rd of March. the 23rd of March is declared as the Martyrs day in India to remember the sacrifice and pay homage to the Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar.


23rd March: World Meterological Day As well As Martyrs Day in India.
World Meteorological Day is celebrated every year on 23 March to commemorate the entry into force in 1950 of the convention that created the World Meterological Organization.


World Tuberculosis Day: 24 march
World TB Day which is observed on March 24th each yea, is designed to build public awareness taht tuberculosis remains and epidemic in much of the world, causing the deaths of nearly one-and-a-half million people each year, mostly in developing countries. This year theme was - "Unite to End TB".


30th March: National Doctor's Day
Every Year 30th March is observed as National doctor's Day. The first Doctor's Day was observed on March 30, 1933 in Winder, Georgia.
But in India, Doctor's Day is celebrated July 1 to honour Bharat Ratna recipient physicaian Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, who was the first chief minister of West Bengal.


2nd April: Would Autism Awareness Day
World Autism Awareness Day is an internationally recognized day on the 2nd of April every year. This year the theme is "Austism and the 2030 Agenda: Inclusion and Neurodiversity".


5th April: National Maritime Day
5th April is marked as the national Maritime Day of India to commemorate the sailing of India's first steamship Loyalty on April 5th 1919 form Mumbai to London. But from 1964 the day has been observed as National Maritime Day and all major ports observe this day celebrating India's seafaring traditions and journeys.


7th April: World Health Day
7th April is celebrated each year globally as World Health Day under the sponsorship of the world Health Organization (WHO). This time the themes of World Health Days for 2016 is Halt the rise: beat diabetes.


World Homoeopathy Day observed 
World Homoeopathy Day was observed on 10 April 2016 and it was organised by India. The Day commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician.


World Haemophilia Day 2016 observed
World Haemophilia Day was observed globally on 17 April 2016 with theme Treatment for all is the vision of all.

The International Mother Earth Day was on 22 April 2016 observed across the world with the theme 'Trees for the Earth'. This year's theme sets the goal of planting 7.8 billion trees over the next five years.


World Book and Copyright Day Observed

World Book Day is an annual event celebrated every year by the people all over the world on 23rd of April. It is the most important event organized annually by the UNESCO.
