  1. 123:36:: 221: ?
a. 52   b. 69
c. 72  d. 25
Ans (d)

123 ⇢ 1+2+3 = 6.

62  = 36

Similarly,
221 ⇢ 2+2+1 = 5
52 = 25

2. Sec A + Tan A = 1/3 then what is Sec A - Tan A?

Ans: 3
 1+ Tan2 A = Sec2 A = 1
⇒ Sec2 A - Tan2 A =1
⇒ (Sec A + Tan A)(Sec A - Tan A) = 1
⇒ (1/3)(Sec A - Tan A) = 1
⇒ (Sec A - Tan A) = 1(1/3) = 3

3. Train running at 72 kmph how much distance in meters covered in 15 seconds?

Ans: 300 m
To convert 72 Km/h to m/sec* we will multiply it by 5/18. why (1000 m/3600 s)
72*5/18 = 20 m/s
So Train's speed is 20 m/s
So in 15 sec, it will cover a distance equal to,
D= 20*15 = 300 m

4. Sin θ = .......* Cos θ

Ans: Tan θ
Tan θ =  Sin θ/Cos θ
⇒ Sin θ = Tan θ*Cos θ

Comparing from questions, black space will be filled byTan θ

5. 100 million dollars is equal to how may indain rupees?

Ans: 6,62,30,00,000 INR#
First know the two basic equations.
1USD= 66.23 INR
1 Million = 10 Lakh (10,00,000)
⇒ 100 million USD = 100*
(10,00,000) = 10,00,00,000

Now we will convert dolloars into Rupee.
As 1 USD = 66.23 INR
⇒ 100 Million USD
= 66.23*10,00,00,000
⇒ 100 million USD= 6,62,30,00,000 INR

# Currency conversion changes daily, so it's best to check the current conversion rates.

=Tan (45°) [because tan (360°- θ) = -Tan θ]
= -(1) [because tan(45)= 1]

8. A covers half distance at 3 km/h and another half at doubled speed then how much distance is covered in 6 hrs?

Ans: 20 Km (not 22.5 Km)
Let Distance be = 2x
Half Distance = x @ 3 km/h
Next half distance x @ 6 km/h

when one travels at speed a for half the distance and speed b for other half of the distance.
Average Speed = 2ab/(a+b)
Avg Speed= 2(3)(6)/(3+6) =4 km/h
Distance = Speed*Time
Distance = 4*5 = 20 Km

9. On a Square 100 tree will plant on every side then how many trees are required?

Ans: 396
When you see such questions, take the small numbers and analyze the case.

Let's say we want 4 trees on each side of the square.

So can you say, 4 trees on each side and total will be 4 times 4 that is 16???

No, you can't as you are counting corner trees twice.

What you see now, 2*4 side trees and 1*4 corner tree that is total 12, not 16.

Now in the case of 100 trees on each side, you will get, 98 in middle and 2 being the end points

So total trees = 4*98+4 = 396
General formula = 4*(n-1) for square.

10. Find the next number 1, 1, 4, 8, 9, 27, ?

13. In total 20 balls, 16 balls are of red color, if they are used for gifts and it should be an equal number of balls in each package of gifts, how many gifts are made?

A. 4    B. 5
C. 6    D. 3

Ans: (A)
The question here itself doesn't seem complete. So we will give our logic.

16 red balls can be divided equally as, 8-8, 4-4-4-4 and lower pairs.

So once we have our 4-4-4-4 pair, we can add the rest 4 odd color balls in each of one.

that means 5-5-5-5
So total 4 pairs.

14. A person sell his radio in 1300 with 30% profit, then what will be the cost price?

Ans: 1000
One thing you can do is, remember the results that is formulas for everything. That is handy sometimes but for rest of us. we will always begin with cost price.

As you know all calculations are made on CP.
Let's calculate the profit.
Profit%=(SP-CP)/CP*100
Let the CP = x
⇒ 30/100 = 1300/x-1
⇒ 130/100 = 1300/x
⇒ x = CP = 1000

15. One selling an article for Rs 270 there is a gian of 12.5%. What is its cost price?

Ans: 240
Gain% = S.P-C.P/C.P*100
⇒ 12.5 =(270-x/x)*100
⇒ 12.5x = 27000 - 100x
⇒ 112.5x = 27000
⇒ x = 240
CP= 240

16. x= 2y, x+y = 25 what is the value of x?

Ans: 50/3

⇒y=25/3
⇒ x=2y=50/3

17. If its 10 am in the clock then minute hand and second-hand forms what angle?

Ans: Zero degree
Both Minute hand and Second hand will conside.
Also remember these.

For every hour (i.e.) 60 minutes, the minutes hand travels 360 degrees. So, for 15 minutes, it would have travelled 90 degrees.

For every 12 hours, the hours hand travels 360 degrees. So, for every hour (i.e) 60 minutes, it would have travelled 30 degrees.

28. A works double of  B and takes 30 days less than B then how many days they both will take to complete the work?

Ans: 20 days
Suppose days taken by A and B are x and 2x respectively.
Given: 2x - x = x = 30
A's one day work = 1/x
B's one day work = 1/2x
(A+B)'s one day work = 1/x + 1/2x = 3/2x

So work will be completed in 2x/ 3days.

From the top we know x is equal to 30

So the work will be completed in 20 days working A and B both together.
